For more than 11,000 years, towering mountain ranges and lush river valleys with abundant wildlife have drawn residents and visitors to this area. The wonders of Yellowstone National Park are nearby, Park County’s people are friendly, and our communities are charming. We invite you to become a part of our history!

Explore permanent exhibits that interpret Park County’s role as the historic gateway to Yellowstone National Park; ancient and modern Native cultures; legacies of transportation, especially of railways, in the American West; and histories of local industry, including ranching and rodeo. Outdoor exhibits include a one-room schoolhouse, a blacksmith shop, and a fleet of historic vehicles, including an original Northern Pacific Railway caboose.

Current temporary exhibits include: "Ice Age Mammals" and "Ice Age Archaeology"

Coming soon: "The Secret Language of Wolves"
